A development agency
supports fishermen in Kenya to secure the coasts threatened by increasing sea levels. The most important intervention is the rehabilitation of mangrove forests along the coasts. In each village a nursery is set up and people are trained to manage it like a commercial enterprise.
The garden center
provides the start-up financing for 10 nurseries each year. A display with photos on the Kenyan project is installed in each branch. A plant grown from seeds in the project area is sold next to the displays. Two employees of the garden center consult the project in Kenya several weeks a year.
